Set and understand low-stock warnings

The list warning and an owner alert are related, but saving a threshold does not prove an alert was delivered.

Step by step

  1. Open “Inventory” from the sidebar.
  2. As owner, open the correct product’s Edit form. Set Low stock alert to a nonnegative whole-number threshold, then Save and reopen. The list marks low stock when physical stock is at or below this number.
  3. The owner alert is attempted when a sale or supported downward adjustment crosses from above a positive threshold to at/below it. More decreases while already low do not send another alert each time. Raising stock above the threshold allows a later downward crossing to alert again.
  4. Threshold 0 disables that owner-alert hook; zero stock may still show as low in the list. Changing the threshold alone or creating initial low stock does not trigger a guaranteed notification. The filter uses on-hand stock, not on-hand minus reservations.
  5. For a missing alert, verify saved threshold, stock and movement first, then owner notification availability. Do not manufacture sales or repeat an adjustment to force a message. A saved decrease may succeed even when its alert fails; contact support with product and time.

Feature availability depends on your plan and permissions.
